What is the project?
CtrlAlt Agency is a web portal that connects clients and administrators. It has a simple HTML, CSS and JavaScript frontend, an ASP.NET Core API, and a SQL Server database behind it.
Think of it as a small, focused version of tools like Asana, made for an agency that needs to talk to clients, track their requests and keep everything in one place.
What problems does it solve?
- Session conflicts. Clients and admins can log in using different tabs in the same browser without their sessions getting mixed up.
- Waiting for approval. Instead of refreshing the page to see if an admin approved their new account, clients are logged in automatically the moment approval happens.
- Persistent chat. It replaces temporary chat tools with a saved, real-time messaging system backed by SQL Server.
- Admin confusion. Admins can filter tickets and chats by client, so they always know exactly whose task they are working on.
- Development headaches. The backend is set up to work smoothly with local frontend requests right out of the box.
Tech stack
- Frontend: plain HTML, CSS and vanilla JavaScript, built as a static single-page app.
- Backend: ASP.NET Core Web API running on .NET 8.
- Database: SQL Server, managed with Entity Framework Core for migrations and schema updates.
- Security: PBKDF2 hashing for passwords.
