Sometimes a post on your blog should really point somewhere else, like a guest article on another site, a press feature or a partner page. Normally that means extra code or a redirect plugin full of settings.
External Redirect keeps it simple.
How it works
In the post editor you get one new field: External Redirect URL. Paste a link, update the post, and anyone who opens that post is sent to that address. Leave the field empty and the post behaves normally.
Why it's useful
- Affiliate and campaign posts: send the whole post to a partner or product page
- Short-term promotions: manage redirects without touching code or
.htaccess - Safe: only valid
httpandhttpslinks are accepted, and admin, preview and feed pages are never affected - Lightweight: plain PHP, no extra scripts or database overhead
- No conflicts with your theme or other plugins
Who it's for
Bloggers, affiliate marketers, agencies and content managers who link out often but want to manage it all from inside WordPress.
Many redirect plugins come with long settings pages and complex rules. This one does a single job well. There's nothing to configure.
