Alt text is a short description of an image. Google uses it to understand your pages, and people using screen readers rely on it to know what's there. Yet most websites have hundreds of images without any.
The Auto Image Alt and Bulk Updater plugin fixes that without you writing a single description by hand.
How it decides what to write
The plugin looks at how each image is actually used:
- Is it a featured image?
- Does it belong to a post or a page?
- Does it only live in the Media Library?
Based on that, it writes alt text from the title of the post or page it belongs to, or from the image name when nothing better is available.
